Sunday 22nd November 2020, 1pm to 6pm – CANCELLED
The organisers of Boldmere Christmas Festival regret to announce that we will not be running the Christmas Festival this year. We have not taken this decision lightly, especially after the cancellation of the summer festival. We have had to consider a number of factors, not least the uncertainty of the current Coronavirus crisis and how it might affect the festival. We have liaised with Dr Justin Varney who is Director of Public Health for Birmingham and Garry Peal who is Events Commissioning Manager for Birmingham City Council.
There would be a number of challenges including the need for social distancing in a public street where access is difficult to manage. We have also recognised that many of the organising team are currently under a lot of additional pressure as they are people who have been contributing to keeping our community going during the Coronavirus crisis and one of our key team members is shielding.
We hope to plan some smaller events like community trails in the run up to Christmas that will enable members of our community to get together or to participate in activities in small groups whilst observing social distancing rules.
We look forward to being able to resume our community festivals in summer 2021 subject to social distancing no longer being necessary.
