The festival takes place from 1pm to 6pm and volunteers are needed to help transform the street into a festival zone and then return it to a public street again. We also need volunteers to help with marshalling the event. Volunteers in the past have always commented on what a great day they have had and the community spirit that they experienced.
Please fill in the application form if you would like to help us.
We are looking for 40 volunteers throughout the day to support the EVENT. We welcome anyone to come along and volunteer with us, no experience is necessary for most roles as we will provide all training on the day.
We are seeking volunteers to carry out the following roles:
- Setup – putting up gazebos, positioning crowd control barriers and bins and ad hoc tasks.
- Set down – taking down gazebos, removing crowd control barriers and ad hoc tasks. This is the area we need most help with.
- Stalls check-in – sign in stall holders, give them instructions, direct them to the correct place and answer general queries.
- Entrances Meet & Greet – welcoming people to the festival, taking and encouraging payments for voluntary entrance donation (requires mobile phone – we provide app and card hardware), answering queries about the festival.
- Volunteer desk – to be available at the volunteer gazebo to sign in volunteers, distribute hi-vis, look after volunteer belongings, deal with ad-hoc tasks. When not needed for this role, volunteers will be assigned to entrances.
- Admin – to keep a record of tasks that have been completed, need to be done, incidents reported, manage sign-in and sign-out sheets for officials and service suppliers, signing in and out equipment and support the event manager and event controller. This will require competency using a two-way radio.
Multiple roles can be carried out by the same person or different people.
Please contact us separately using volunteer@boldmere.org if you live locally to Boldmere and would be interested in joining our organising team.
We can be flexible with timing, but below is an indication of the time we would need volunteers for:
- Setup – 09:00 – 12:00
- Stalls Check-in 09:00 – 13:30 & 17:30 – 20:00
- Entrances Meet & Greet – 12:00 – 17:30
- Volunteer desk – 09:00 – 13:30 and 13:30 to 20:30
- Set down – 17:00 – 20:30
- Admin – any times during the day
We are happy to be flexible within these times and are more than happy for people to volunteer for multiple shifts including the full 11.5 hours
Most roles require physical ability to stand for up to 2 hours at a time, although we do have four roles for administratively competent volunteers that would not require as much standing but would require mobility. Entrances & marshals roles require confidence interacting with members of the public. If helping at the entrances, we take cash and card voluntary entrance fees. All payment equipment is provided.
We provide snacks and water to all volunteers and for those who stay at the event for longer than 5 hours we will provide a hot meal voucher too. You will receive a full volunteer information pack before the day and a briefing on the day.
